New law as Ruto and his allies could be jailed after 5years.

The bill has been sponsored by the National Assembly Security Committee and is perceived to outlaw Deputy President William Ruto's hustler movement. According to the DP's critics, the hustlers narrative threatens to spark animosity between the poor and the rich or what the DP describes as the "dynasties". If passed into law, anyone found culpable of using social status to discriminate against others will be slapped with a five-year jail term of pay KSh 5 million. "A person who has been dismissed or removed from office for a contravention of section 62 (1) and 62 (A)1 is disqualified from any other state or public office," reads the proposed National Cohesion and Integration (Amendment) Bill of 2021. Allies of Deputy President William Ruto have, however, dismissed claims the hustler narrative is aimed at inciting the poor against the rich.
